Call Recording
This page describes in more detail the call recording feature available in babblevoice.
From the main babblevoice console, call recording can be enabled for all calls in a domain.
The amount of space required is selected whilst enabling it. We estimate (which varied) that 16 hours of recording time can be achieved with each GB purchased. When the space is filled up, new space is created by removing the oldest call recording first. This will vary enormously depending on calling pattern and options selected (MP3 - smaller or wav, stereo or not).
Selecting MP3 has the largest effect of how much history you have. Typically an MP3 file is 10 times smaller than a wav file. This means you have 10 times more history available. It takes a lot of computing power to convert files into MP3 so additional charges apply.
babblevoice stores call recordings in Amazon S3 storage. We do this because:
- They have oodles of space!
- It is very robust, they have a durability of 99.999999999% for each file stored
- They have an availability rate 0f 99.99%
- It is secure (SSL)
- It is used by Nasdaq, Netflix and many others
Once stored, call recordings can be retrieved by the call records gadget in babblevibes. The babblevibes widget can download or play in the browser. Access control to call recordings are managed in the users section of the babblevoice console.
